Hi, I’m Mel.
I originally studied silversmithing and jewellery design in Melbourne many years ago, but life took me down a different path for a while. After relocating from Australia to New Zealand, I gradually found my way back to making and now create from my tiny home studio. It has become a quiet, grounding part of my everyday life — a place where ideas can unfold slowly and by hand.
My style is minimal and organic, with a focus on pieces that feel considered, well made, and quietly imperfect. I love being able to see the trace of the hand in handmade work. I’m drawn to simple forms, subtle texture, and the small details that make each piece feel individual.
Most days, I’m accompanied by my cat, Mooch, who likes to keep a close eye on things and appears to consider herself in charge of quality control.
